Athletic Update 10/29/20:
* All after school activities are canceled.
* Dance Team Update: Dance Team rehearsal today is canceled. We will rehearse and hold tryouts on Friday, October 30 as originally planned but we will need everyone at the Student Union Gym dressed and ready by 1:00 PM. (Not 2:00 as originally planned.) We will learn the rest of what we need for tryouts and then we will conduct tryouts. Pickup is at the student union at 4:00 PM and athletes will be dismissed as soon as tryouts are over. If you have any questions please email Coach Sneed at lori.sneed@yorkprepsc.org.
National Weather service updates in the last hour have confirmed the likelihood of tropical storm force winds in our area during the school day. As a result, all of our school buildings will be closed tomorrow. Our teachers will be available virtually during their office hours to help students with questions. Stay safe.
Please note: York Prep's buildings will be closed tomorrow but all students will still work on their assignments virtually. Full-time virtual students will have their scheduled online classes tomorrow.
Attention Parents/Guardians: We are monitoring the storm and it's possible effects. We will be continuing on regular schedule at this time. Because we know that our families live in a large variety of locations across the county, we encourage families to monitor their personal situation and let us know if they are affected. If the situation changes as we monitor it, we will let you know no later than 6:00 am.

The York Prep Girls Cross Country team came in 2nd place! Senior, Peden Robinson finished 5th and was named All Region. Sophomore, Savannah Johansen finished in 8th place. Congratulations to the entire team and best of luck in the State competition!

John Mugabe, York Prep Alumni and student at University of South Carolina created a three-part audio documentary that follows key figures through the Revolutionary War battle of Kings Mountain, South Carolina.
A project for the American Battlefield Trust in partnership with the Youth Leadership Team, John rallied community support to cover the project's cost and received voice assistance from YPA graduates, faculty and community members. When asked why he chose this project, John said “Their stories deserve to be heard and most importantly remembered and enshrined as the words of true heroes.” Please join us in listening to this never-before-heard retelling of American and South Carolina history.
