York Preparatory Academy congratulates Alina McDonald for her 1st place victory at the 2022 NACAC Open Championships on Friday. Coach McDonald has competed in pole vault on the collegiate, international, and Olympic levels. A graduate of Winthrop University, Coach McDonald joined York Prep's staff in 2021 as a Certified Athletic Trainer and teaches Sports Medicine at YPA High School. Part of the Athletic Administration, Coach McDonald is equipping students to succeed in the collegiate level and beyond.

- 2022: World Championship Qualifier
- 2022: 2nd Place National Championship
- 2019: 1st Place NACAC Championship for Team USA Under 23
- Three-time Junior Olympic Champion
- 2016: Broke National Record for Jump Height in her class
