The 2024-25 Enrollment Application opens on Sunday, October 15th at https://www.yorkprepsc.org/page/enrollment-and-tours.
Below are some of the common questions:
- How do I apply? To be included in our 2024 Enrollment Lottery, applications must be submitted between October 15, 2023 and February 15, 2024. The application will be available at https://www.yorkprepsc.org/page/enrollment-and-tours
- Who can apply? All students residing in South Carolina are eligible to apply regardless of their zoned district. To be eligible for Kindergarten, students must be 5 on or before September 1, 2024.
- How does the lottery work? All applications received during open enrollment (10/15/23-2/15/24) will be entered into our enrollment lottery software. The lottery is scheduled for Thursday, February 22 at 9 am. The enrollment lottery software randomly assigns a lottery number to all applicants and places them in the order of their lottery number on the list. Priority will be given to staff children and the siblings of current students.
- Do siblings of current students and staff children need to apply? Yes. To be included in the lottery you must apply during open enrollment. Current York Prep students do not need to reapply.
- If one student is accepted, do their siblings get priority? No. To receive sibling priority in the enrollment lottery, you must have a sibling that attended York Prep in the 2023-24 school year.
- What is a sibling? The definition of a sibling includes biological, adopted, step, and legal custody (legal documentation must be provided). Residing in the same residence does not qualify as a legal sibling. We are unable to offer priority to cousins, grandchildren or other family members associated with York Prep students or staff.
- How will applicants be notified? Families will be notified of the lottery results via email by 4 pm on Friday, February 23.
